Client Details
A growing precision manufacturing environment is seeking a skilled Senior Process Engineer with strong CNC programming expertise to support new product introduction, optimize production processes, and drive continuous improvement across machining operations. This role is highly collaborative and customer facing, combining hands on programming, technical problem solving, and process development.
Description
- Analyze product specifications and performance requirements to determine optimal manufacturing methods
- Create, implement, and troubleshoot CNC programs for new part start ups using MasterCAM, PartMaker, or similar platforms
- Evaluate tooling and equipment needs, including feasibility, cost, and timing considerations
- Provide technical expertise on materials, manufacturing processes, and production limitations
- Collaborate with customers to clarify designs, resolve issues, and support manufacturability
- Interpret and modify CAD models and engineering drawings to support machining operations
- Lead and coordinate prototype builds and new product launches
- Work with vendors to source equipment, tooling, and outside processes such as anodizing, heat treat, grinding, and plating
- Estimate cycle times, labor requirements, and production costs
- Partner with operations and leadership to align on schedules, capabilities, and production planning
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes to enhance quality, throughput, and cost efficiency
- Troubleshoot machining and process issues to minimize downtime
- Maintain and update process documentation and work instructions
- Support inspection teams using metrology knowledge and understanding of SPC and process capability
- Assist with engineering change implementation and validation methods
- Stay current on manufacturing technologies and support new product development initiatives
- Participate in technical presentations and support customer proposals when needed

Profile
A successful Senior Process Engineer should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering preferred
- Alternatively, an associate degree with at least 5 years of relevant machining process experience
- Strong proficiency with CAD and CAM tools such as SolidWorks, MasterCAM, or PartMaker
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD and T requirements
- Solid understanding of machining processes, tooling, and secondary operations
- * Working knowledge of metrology, SPC, and process capability
