We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to lead manufacturing optimisation efforts across production, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. Description
- Lead complex process improvement projects focused on increasing productivity, reducing waste, and improving overall equipment effectiveness.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers, production teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Analyse manufacturing performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimisation.
- Drive root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective and preventative actions.
- Oversee the introduction of new products, equipment, and manufacturing technologies into production.
- Develop and standardise process documentation, work instructions, and engineering best practices.
- Partner with quality, maintenance, operations, and supply chain teams to improve performance across the business.
- Manage capital and process improvement projects from concept through implementation.
- Evaluate and recommend equipment upgrades, automation opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Support employee development through technical coaching, training, and mentoring.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute long-term operational improvement strategies.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of process engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven track record leading process improvement, cost reduction, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience leading root cause investigations and implementing long-term solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence teams across all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop less experienced engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within wire and cable, plastics, metals, automotive, aerospace, or other high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Belt or Green Belt certification.
- Experience with SPC, PFMEA, process validation, and statistical analysis.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar quality management systems.
- Familiarity with automation, manufacturing technology implementation, and capital equipment projects.
- Experience using CAD software and manufacturing process simulation tools.
