Summary/Objective: Under the direction of the Vice President of Strategic Sourcing & Occupational Safety, the Senior Procurement Coordinator serves as a senior resource for the Procurement department, providing leadership, guidance, and advanced procurement support to the organization's centers and support teams.
In addition to managing complex purchasing activities and vendor relationships, this role leads department initiatives, mentors Procurement Coordinators, supports strategic sourcing efforts, and identifies opportunities to improve service, operational efficiency, vendor performance, and cost management across the organization.
This role exercises independent judgment to provide recommendations on purchasing strategies, procurement operational improvements, resolving vendor issues and developing standards and procedures.
Essential Functions:

- Serve as the department's lead procurement resource and subject matter expert.
- Serve as the primary procurement liaison between organizational centers, Support Center departments, and vendors to resolve complex purchasing and supply issues.
- Provide functional leadership, coaching, mentoring, and training to Procurement Coordinators and other team members, as assigned.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex procurement, vendor, contract, and supplyrelated issues.
- Provide guidance on preferred vendors, contracted products, substitutions, product availability, and supply continuity for complex or escalated situations.
- Analyze procurement spend, utilization, rental costs, purchasing trends, and vendor performance to identify risks, opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Lead vendor business reviews and support supplier performance management through ongoing evaluation and relationship development
- Recommend sourcing strategies, product standardization, and process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Oversee vendor onboarding processes, ensuring required documentation, credit applications, system setup, and compliance standards are completed and maintained.
- Lead procurement initiatives and cross-functional projects from planning through implementation, ensuring timely execution and stakeholder engagement.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve procurement policies, procedures, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
- Partner with Operations, Finance, Clinical, Facilities, and other departments to support organizational priorities and enterprise purchasing initiatives.
- Support strategic sourcing activities, contract implementation, vendor negotiations, and organization-wide purchasing strategies.
- Monitor procurement performance metrics and present recommendations that improve service levels, compliance, operational efficiency, and expense management.
- Exercise independent judgment in resolving complex procurement challenges and driving continuous improvement within the department.

o Follows and adheres to Facility’s policies and procedures implementing HIPAA requirements for the privacy and security of protected health information.
o Uses and/or discloses only minimum amount of Protected Health Information necessary to complete assigned tasks.
o Reports all suspected violation of company’s HIPAA policies or procedures to Facility Privacy Designee
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
The responsibilities of this position involve significant no to minor physical activities including standing, lifting (computer equipment, packages, etc.)
Required Education and Experience:
- Experience in healthcare or a relevant discipline
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in procurement, project management, or a relevant logistics role
- An analytical, problem-solving personality with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with vendors.
- Experience with data entry, database management, and reporting and compliance
- Proficient in Microsoft Office productivity tools such as Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Travel: Up to 10% of the time to local facilities, conferences or vendor sponsored events
