Senior Purchasing Manager
A well-established manufacturer is seeking a Senior Purchasing Manager to lead procurement activities across a complex production environment. This position is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, strengthening supplier relationships, improving material availability, and leading a team focused on supporting operational and business objectives. This opportunity is well-suited for a procurement leader who can balance strategic decision-making with a strong understanding of the daily challenges facing a manufacturing supply chain.
Job Description
- Direct and develop purchasing operations to ensure uninterrupted support of manufacturing requirements
- Establish sourcing strategies that improve supplier performance, reduce risk, and support long-term business objectives
- Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers while identifying opportunities for cost savings and value creation
- Lead contract negotiations and commercial discussions related to pricing, lead times, service levels, and supplier agreements
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, planning, and finance teams to align procurement priorities with business needs
- Monitor inventory levels, purchasing trends, and material requirements to improve service levels and working capital performance
- Evaluate supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to maintain business continuity
- Drive initiatives focused on process improvement, operational efficiency, and procurement best practices
- Utilize data and reporting tools to support decision-making and measure departmental performance
- Coach and develop procurement team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

The Successful Applicant
A successful Senior Procurement Manager should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of purchasing, sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment
- Prior leadership experience managing purchasing, procurement, or supply chain personnel
- Demonstrated success negotiating supplier agreements and managing key vendor relationships
- Strong understanding of inventory management, material planning, and manufacturing operations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
