Overview:

Talcott Financial Group is seeking a Sr. Product Consultant to perform product management and competitive intelligence functions for a growing suite of retail annuity products. This role reports to the Head of Product/Pricing and partners cross-functionally to provide product, industry, and competitive information and insights. The position will work in a hybrid work arrangement at our Hartford, CT. office. Remote work arrangements will be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor industry trends and competitors, identifying opportunities and threats and highlighting product, positioning, and competitive pricing insights to improve market standing.
  • Manage relationships with third-party platforms/industry data providers ensure accurate, compliant, and effective representation of products and sales.
  • Create and maintain competitive intelligence tools and resources for use by product, pricing, and sales teams.
  • Create or review product specifications, procedures, and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in idea generation and scoping of new products and product enhancements, translating business and market needs into clear product requirements.
  • Review product marketing materials and support Sales and Operations with product-related expertise and inquiries.
  • Conduct internal product training and serve as a product subject matter expert across the organization.
  • Assist with implementing new products and enhancements by partnering with Systems, Operations, Marketing, and Sales teams.
  • Perform other product management duties as necessary.
  • Drive continuous improvement of processes, tools, and ways of working.
  • As applicable, lead or mentor an individual or small team of product professionals, coaching and developing team members to achieve annual goals

Qualifications:

  • Subject matter expertise in annuity products (e.g., MYGA, FIA, RILA, VA)
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.

Strong understanding of product pricing, regulatory environments, and product lifecycle management.

  • Demonstrated ability to autonomously manage multiple complex priorities
  • Demonstrated business savvy with a strategic focus for collaborative problem solving
  • Effective communicator with outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive business relationships across the organization
  • A self-starter with strong organization and attention-to-detail
  • Willingness to take initiative, lead projects and influence business outcomes
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and results-oriented, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • NOTE* This position will require 10% travel ad hoc

Compensation:

This range represents the minimum and maximum annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range. The base pay is based on factors including but not limited to experience, competence, and demonstration of proficiencies essential for the role. The base pay is just one component of Talcott's total annual compensation for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, long-term incentives and recognition.
