SENIOR PRODUCT DESIGN ENGINEER (Permanent)
Our client, a global manufacturing organization in WNY, is looking to hire a Senior Product Design Engineer to join their growing team.  This is a newly created position due to growth.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end‑to‑end new product development initiatives, from concept and modeling through prototyping, testing, and final production
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, and cross‑functional engineering teams to ensure designs are practical, cost‑efficient, and ready for production
  • Create comprehensive technical specifications, including material selection, tolerances, manufacturing processes, and assembly requirements
  • Utilize CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Rhino) to develop 3D product models, technical drawings, and prototypes
  • Perform product testing, performance analysis, and validation to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and customer specifications
  • Drive design improvements focused on manufacturability, durability, cost optimization, long‑term performance, and environmental sustainability
  • Contribute to APQP and continuous improvement efforts, including PFMEA, control plans, and PPAP documentation when applicable
  • Review technical designs and mentor junior engineers
  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies, materials, and industry best practices in product and manufacturing engineering
  • Work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Work on several projects at a given time—anywhere from 1-5, depending on complexity
  • Other duties as assigned/as necessary


Details:

  • Position is full-time, direct hire, 1st shift
  • 100% in-office
  • $85,000 - $125,000 annually depending on experience
  • Excellent benefits package
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 4+ years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient computer skills: CAD, MSOffice (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with APQP tools: DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, etc.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong organization skills and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
  • Relocation not available
