Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides companies of all sizes with an infrastructure web services platform in the cloud ("cloud computing"). With AWS you can requisition compute power, storage, and many other services, gaining access to a suite of elastic IT infrastructure services as your business demands them. AWS is the leading platform for designing and developing applications for the cloud and is growing rapidly with hundreds of thousands of companies in over 190 countries on the platform.

At AWS, the Global Deal Strategy and Programs (GDSP) team drives cloud adoption and business growth through innovative pricing strategies. The organization comprises two specialized teams: Strategic Customer Engagements, which guide transformative deals with industry leaders, and Private Pricing Programs & Experiences, which scales and optimizes pricing solutions across our diverse customer base. Within GDSP, you will develop deep expertise in cloud economics, hone your strategic thinking, and directly impact AWS"s market leadership while working with emerging technologies and global clients

The Global Deal Strategy and Programs (GDSP) organization is responsible for the AWS Private Pricing Program, designed to offer AWS Customers access to commercial benefits in exchange for multi-year spend commitments. Private Pricing offers AWS customers the opportunity to accelerate their cloud transformation journeys through multi-year relationships with AWS, delivering maximal value to customers in terms of pricing, access to services, and opportunities to innovate. For Amazon, Private Pricing drives more extensive, deeper, and longer-lasting relationships with customers. Today, Private Pricing largely serves AWS's enterprise customers seeking to make cloud commitments in exchange for pricing value, and exclusively serves customers brought in via AWS or partner sellers. Private Pricing is poised to grow both revenue and margin by expanding access to Private Pricing and by expanding the value proposition of AWS for Private Pricing customers.

GDSP is seeking an individual to join the Private Pricing Product Management (3PM) team, an organization responsible for driving the growth and scale of the Private Pricing Experience through new tools, technology enhancements, automation, and generative AI. As a Product Manager - Tech you will own the full product lifecycle for tools and technologies that improve the internal and external customer experience. To do this, you will work across the GDSP organization and with cross-org development teams (outside GDSP) to innovate, build and iterate on tools and technology enhancements that enhance the user experience. You will work with both internal and external stakeholder teams to define and influence product roadmaps to implement solutions at scale that support customer needs.

The ideal candidate has a keen eye for gaps in customer product offerings and the innovative mindset to fill them. They are a highly skilled product manager with a proven ability to strategize the full lifecycle of product production, from conception through release.

We are looking for a leader with strong technical and communication skills to drive product management for portion(s) of the AWS private pricing experience. This is a high-visibility and high-impact role that will interact with AWS VP leadership. The role requires a customer-centric approach where you"ll need to respond with a sense of urgency using your technical and business judgement and effectively communicate with leaders and peers.

Key job responsibilities

  • Proven experience with implementing direct-to-customer technologies (i.e., websites, mobile apps)
  • Experience converting customer needs into solutions using proven methods such as design thinking and agile product leadership
  • Manage complex technology implementations, coordinating internal and external cross-functional stakeholders across geographies
  • Prioritize features, experience enhancements, bug fixes, and simplify tech landscape based on predefined criteria in a fast-paced, complex environment
  • Manage blockers, drive escalations, anticipate and make trade-off decisions, balance business needs and technical constraints, and maximize business benefit while delivering excellent customer experiences
  • Design and implement new processes through tools and technology to scale the Private Pricing Experience
  • Analyze data and customer needs to provide tooling recommendations and enhancement ideas
  • Evolve norms and processes for 3PM such as product management templates, backlog management, prioritization criteria, requirements writing, communications and stakeholder management

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
