Senior Product Marketing Manager

Confidential Client  ·  New York City (On-Site)  ·  Full-Time

About the Opportunity

Our client is a fast-growing, venture-backed software company building an AI-powered operating platform for a large, traditional services industry — automating complex, high-touch operational workflows into a single, scalable system where getting each decision right carries real economic stakes for customers.

  • •   The company operates in a very large market with strong tailwinds — AI adoption, labor shortages, and generational ownership transitions — and is defining its category rather than fighting for share.
  • •   It reached meaningful ARR within 18 months of launch; product-market fit is proven, and the business is now scaling.
  • •   The company is well capitalized, backed by top-tier venture investors.
  • •   The team is 60+ people and talent-dense, based in New York City, with founders who come directly from the industry they serve.

The Role

This hire will be the strategic architect behind why customers choose our client — owning positioning and narrative from the first cold outbound email through multi-year enterprise renewals. Positioning clarity is the leading predictor of win rate in the company's complex, multi-stakeholder deals, so this person's narrative and enablement work directly shapes how the sales team performs in the room.

The role will enable both marketing and sales, translate fluently with a technical engineering team, drive alignment on the ideal customer profile across the organization, and bring an enterprise, outcomes-oriented lens to everything the company puts in front of buyers. Over time, there is an opportunity to build and lead a team, including design resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Positioning & Messaging
  • •   Own the company's messaging architecture from corporate narrative down to product, persona, and vertical levels.
  • •   Translate technical differentiation into clear, buyer-facing value for enterprise customers, keeping it consistent across sales conversations, content, and market-facing communications.
  • •   Define ICPs, personas, and jobs-to-be-done that are genuinely actionable for Sales and Marketing.
  • •   Drive pricing and packaging.

Sales & Marketing Enablement

  • •   Own enablement strategy and output with a clear focus on improving win rates and deal velocity — spanning acquisition through post-sales kickoffs.
  • •   Build and maintain a focused, high-impact content set: core pitch, vertical narratives, competitive positioning, and objection handling.
  • •   Partner closely with sales leadership and drive adoption through training, onboarding, and tight feedback loops.

Competitive Intelligence & Customer Research

  • •   Own competitive strategy — tracking competitor positioning, product evolution, and win/loss dynamics — and translate insights into actionable guidance for Sales.
  • •   Run customer interviews to ground positioning in real buyer language and outcomes.
  • •   Stay ahead of category shifts across the company's software category and adjacent AI-enabled operations technology.

Segment Go-to-Market

  • •   Own go-to-market strategy for the company's key customer segments, from independent operators to private-equity-backed platforms.
  • •   Build complete segment narratives — buyer, problem, solution, proof points, differentiation — and activate them consistently across campaigns, content, and sales motions.

Product Launch & GTM Execution

  • •   Own GTM for product launches and major releases, from positioning through market activation.
  • •   Partner with Engineering on commercial readiness — packaging, pricing input, and sales readiness.
  • •   Define success metrics and feed learnings back into future launches and product strategy.

Candidate Profile

The right person brings:

  • •   8+ years in product marketing, ideally in B2B or vertical SaaS.
  • •   Experience with enterprise sales motions and a feel for how positioning shifts as deal size grows.
  • •   A track record of partnering directly with founders and product leaders on positioning and narrative.
  • •   A strong design eye and a real opinion on design — someone who cares how positioning and enablement materials look and feel.
  • •   Exceptional written and verbal communication, plus strong business acumen on competitive dynamics, deal strategy, and category positioning.
  • •   The ability to communicate and translate fluently with a technical engineering team.
  • •   A background in vertical SaaS within a technical product environment.
  • •   An NYC base (or willingness to be on-site full time), enthusiasm for in-office collaboration in a high-intensity environment, willingness to travel for customer and prospect onsites at least monthly, and authorization to work in the U.S.

Nice to Have

  • •   Familiarity with field operations, dispatch, logistics, or other service-industry technology.
  • Compensation & Benefits
  • •   Competitive base salary plus target bonus and meaningful early-stage equity.
  • •   Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with monthly lifestyle and meal benefits.
