As a Senior Product Designer at AppZen, you'll shape the user experience for our products from planning to delivery. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and Fortune 500 clients to design workflows and interactions that set new industry standards. This role offers a unique chance to create innovative solutions that have never been seen before in the industry, helping to shape the future of how companies manage their financial processes.

This role is expected to commute to the San Jose office four days a week on Mondays through Thursdays.

Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end experience for core products, from planning to launch, partnering with the Principal Designer, Product, and Engineering to find the right problems to solve
• Design AI-powered and agentic workflows that finance teams can understand and trust, including explainability, confidence signals, human-in-the-loop review, and graceful handling of model errors
• Pay close attention to design details, make complex tasks easy to use, and connect related projects effectively
• Raise the craft bar through design crits and mentorship, and help shape the team's long-term product vision and processes
• Contribute to a design system built for both designers and AI-assisted development, including tokens, component documentation, and clear specs
• Use AI tools throughout the design process, from research synthesis to functional prototypes, to move faster and test ideas with real data

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience
• A portfolio showcasing strong design skills and well-crafted user experiences
• Experience designing for B2B and/or fintech products
• Strong prototyping skills across fidelities, including functional or coded prototypes
• Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system
• Hands-on experience planning and running user research, and turning insights into product direction
• Experience working in complex and ambiguous problem spaces
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in startup environments
• Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and analytical skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience with enterprise finance workflows (AP, expense, audit, compliance
• Familiarity with front-end development

$180,000 - $190,000 a year

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may differ in other locations due to cost-of-labor differences.The total compensation package may also include annual performance bonus, equity, benefits, and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
