Senior Production Engineer Position Profile

The Production Engineer will play a key role in advancing innovative manufacturing methods within an aerospace production environment. This individual will help shape the strategic vision for integrating advanced equipment, intelligent systems, and robotics to enhance efficiency, consistency, and production capability across the facility. The ideal candidate brings both hands-on technical expertise and the ability to understand how emerging technologies can improve large-scale manufacturing operations.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. • 5 years of related experience in a production/operations environment. • Experience working with robotics, intelligent machinery, or advanced manufacturing technologies. • Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and quality principles. • Proven ability to lead technical projects from concept through implementation. • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex ideas to multidisciplinary teams. • Proficiency with CAD tools, industrial controls, and data analysis software is preferred. • Excellent verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization as well as any and all outside agents. • Highly computer literate with MS Office/PC expertise and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.

Essential or Primary Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate production processes to identify opportunities for improved workflow, precision, and throughput. • Develop and implement solutions involving robotics, smart machinery, and digital manufacturing tools. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including engineering, operations, quality, and maintenance-to support adoption of new manufacturing approaches. • Lead feasibility studies, concept development, and high-level planning for equipment integration within existing or new production lines. • Create and maintain documentation, including process specifications, system diagrams, and equipment requirements. • Support commissioning, validation, and continuous improvement efforts for production equipment. • Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes, and areas for enhancement. • Provide technical guidance and training to technicians and operators as new systems are introduced. • Ensure solutions align with safety standards, aerospace manufacturing requirements, and long-term strategic goals.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

• Bring initiatives and activities to closure in a timely manner through effective interaction with individuals both internal and external to the Marotta organization as required. • Facilitate training as needed to maintain a cross-trained workforce and to support operational goals and objectives. • Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping, and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to various regulatory and internal system requirements. • Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal and external to the organization. • Actively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives, programs, etc., to provide constructive recommendations and initiate actions to support company initiatives/goals. • Consistently demonstrate commitment to company values. • Keep management informed of area activities and of any significant problems. • Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. • Ensure that work areas are clean, secure, and well-maintained. • Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including but not limited to:

  • Fluids
  • Fumes
  • Airborne particles
  • Moving mechanical parts
  • Noise
  • Vibration

This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing, and foot protection as required. Temperature of work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

Pay Range: $110,000 - $130,000 per year
