Senior Production Manager - Commercial Grounds Maintenance - Rock Hill Region

The Senior Production Manager (SPM) provides leadership and oversight for multiple production managers and landscape maintenance teams, ensuring operational excellence, safety, quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role is responsible for developing Production Managers and Crew Leaders, driving labor efficiency, supporting revenue growth, and executing company initiatives across assigned operations.

Key Responsibilities

 

Operations & Production Leadership

·       Oversee multiple Production Managers and maintenance crews and ensure efficient service delivery and compliance with company standards.

·        Optimize labor, equipment, materials, and scheduling to maximize productivity and profitability.

·        Conduct site inspections and quality audits to ensure contract compliance and client satisfaction.

·        Identify enhancement opportunities and support revenue growth initiatives.

·        Monitor key performance indicators, including labor efficiency, quality, safety, and retention.

 

Team Leadership & Development

·        Recruit, train, mentor, and develop Production Managers, Crew Leaders, and field staff.

·        Foster a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

·        Conduct performance reviews and support succession planning and leadership development.

 

Financial Management

·        Manage labor, material, and equipment costs to achieve budget and profitability goals.

·        Review production reports, job costing, and operational metrics to improve performance.

·        Support annual planning, forecasting, and resource allocation initiatives.

 

Safety & Compliance

·        Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and industry regulations.

·        Conduct safety training, field audits, and incident investigations.

·        Promote a safety-first culture and reduce operational risk.

 

Equipment & Asset Management

·        Oversee fleet and equipment maintenance programs to minimize downtime.

·        Manage inventory, materials procurement, and vendor relationships.

·        Support capital equipment planning and asset utilization.

 

Client Relations

·        Partner with Account Managers to maintain strong client relationships.

·        Assist with resolving escalated service concerns and ensuring client retention.

·        Participate in client meetings and property reviews as needed.

Qualifications

·        5+ years of experience in commercial landscape maintenance or related green industry operations.

·        3+ years of management experience leading supervisors, managers, or multiple field teams.

·        Strong knowledge of horticulture, turf management, irrigation, plant health care, and landscape enhancements.

·        Experience managing budgets, labor utilization, and operational performance metrics.

·        Proficiency with Boss, Aspire, LMN, Microsoft Office, or similar business management platforms.

·        Valid North Carolina Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.

·        NC Pesticide Applicator License required or ability to obtain.

·        Bachelor's degree in Landscape Management, Horticulture, Business, or related field preferred.

·        Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

 

Physical Requirements

 

·        Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.

·        Ability to walk large commercial properties and active job sites.

·        Ability to lift up to 50 pounds routinely.

·        Ability to work around environmental hazards common to landscape operations
