Senior Production Planner

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking an experienced Senior Production Planner for a long-term opportunity with a manufacturing company located in Tigard, OR. The person in this position will coordinate production planning activities, evaluate demand and capacity requirements, monitor inventory and order status, and support the Master Production Scheduler in meeting production schedules and customer requirements. This role works closely with Scheduling, Expediting, Production, Project Management, and Manufacturing Engineering to anticipate constraints and keep customer orders on track for shipment.

PAY: $30+/hr

Senior Production Planner Responsibilities:

• Monitor customer order status and production requirements to support on-time delivery

• Assess production capacity and identify potential labor, material, and capacity constraints

• Develop short-term demand forecasts to communicate anticipated changes in labor and capacity requirements

• Support the Master Production Scheduler in maintaining production plans and meeting customer requirements

• Communicate released Master Production Schedule (MPS) jobs and changing priorities to Production Expediting

• Coordinate with Production Schedulers, Production Expeditors, Manufacturing Engineers, Project Management, and Production teams regarding order requirements and potential constraints

• Review rework and scrap activity to evaluate potential impacts to production schedules, material availability, and customer commitments

• Assess raw material, Work in Progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory levels in support of production requirements

• Review critical Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Quote (RFQs) to evaluate material availability and production capacity

• Identify material shortages, capacity limitations, and other potential production shortfalls and communicate concerns to appropriate stakeholders

• Support material allocation and shortage resolution efforts to maintain production flow

• Monitor production plans against current requirements and adjust planning priorities as conditions change

• Prepare and maintain reports on key production planning metrics

• Analyze production, inventory, capacity, and demand data to support planning decisions

• Work independently to prioritize competing requirements and meet production deadlines

• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to production planning, scheduling, inventory, and manufacturing workflows

Senior Production Planner Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years of recent, direct production planning experience in a deadline-driven manufacturing environment

• Strong experience working with MRP/ERP systems in a manufacturing setting

• Demonstrated experience with production planning, schedule management, capacity planning, and demand analysis

• Experience assessing raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory requirements

• Experience identifying material shortages and supporting material allocation and shortage resolution

• Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows and the relationship between materials, capacity, scheduling, and customer requirements

• Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze production and planning data

• Strong problem-solving, prioritization, analytical, and organizational skills

• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles preferred

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes involving materials, liquid plumbing components, control devices, and related mechanisms preferred

• Experience working within an ISO-certified manufacturing environment preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred; additional relevant manufacturing and production planning experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. as needed
