Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Production Scheduler is an advanced planning professional responsible for optimizing production schedules across multiple manufacturing areas while balancing customer demand, material availability, labor constraints, and operational capacity. This role serves as a subject matter expert in scheduling, capacity analysis, ERP planning systems, and production flow management.
  • The Senior Production Scheduler partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Program Management, Engineering, and Customer Service to proactively identify risks, evaluate alternatives, and maintain high levels of schedule attainment and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage complex production schedules across multiple manufacturing cells, product families, or value streams.
  • Perform detailed capacity analysis and scenario planning to support changing customer demand and business priorities.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and develop actionable recommendations to improve throughput and schedule performance.
  • Analyze demand patterns, order trends, and production constraints to support decision-making.
  • Drive resolution of material, labor, equipment, and scheduling conflicts that impact customer commitments.
  • Develop and maintain advanced planning, scheduling, and capacity reports.
  • Utilize ERP and planning tools to evaluate manufacturing performance and forecast future capacity requirements.
  • Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and large customer projects by assessing scheduling and capacity impacts.
  • Recommend process improvements that increase scheduling accuracy, schedule attainment, and planning efficiency.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects related to inventory optimization, manufacturing flow, and operational performance.
  • Serve as a planning and scheduling subject matter expert for ERP functionality, scheduling methods, and capacity management.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to leadership regarding schedule risks, capacity concerns, and customer commitments.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in production scheduling, planning, manufacturing operations, or supply chain functions.
  • Minimum 5 years of ERP planning and scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of production scheduling, capacity planning, material requirements planning (MRP), inventory management, demand analysis, and production flow optimization.
  • Advanced proficiency with Oracle EBS (OM, WIP, BOM, Inventory, and MRP modules) or similar ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data modeling, Power Query, Pivot Tables, and dashboard development.
  • Experience utilizing Power BI or similar business intelligence tools to analyze performance and support decision-making.
  • Ability to develop capacity models, perform scenario analysis, and identify solutions to production and resource constraints.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands, assess business impacts, and make sound decisions in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present planning risks, recommendations, and operational insights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • APICS/ASCM CPIM and/or CSCP certification.
  • Experience supporting high-mix, low/high volume manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with production modeling, simulation, or Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) systems.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. The position is eligible for one of the following: commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives according to the terms of those plans.

Salary Range: $56,000 to $153,100
