Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer to support critical Treasury portfolios within a leading financial institution. The role will focus on production support, monitoring, and continuous improvement across multi-platform environments including Hadoop, cloud, grids, and containers. The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL and UNIX/Linux expertise, proficiency with monitoring and ITSM tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and ITRS, and the ability to drive incident and problem management while collaborating across infrastructure and development teams. Candidates should be comfortable using AI tools to enhance day-to-day productivity and operational analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to and resolve business queries for the ERFT space and manage the user query mailbox with timely, appropriate responses.
- Communicate application health and status to line of business and management, providing clear user notifications and managing escalations as needed.
- Drive improvements in monitoring, application stability, and root-cause determination speed.
- Support integrated and independent releases, software and hardware upgrades, and server upgrades in partnership with Technology Infrastructure and Development teams.
- Respond to and resolve feed and batch support issues, manage alerts, and ensure effective monitoring coverage.
- Utilize ITSM, ITRS, JIRA, Dynatrace, and Splunk for updates, reporting, and operational insights.
- Execute incident and problem management, including documentation, knowledge management, and coordination with development teams for resolution.
- Assist with metrics reporting, organize and lead issue-resolution meetings, and coordinate Business Continuity testing and documentation.
- Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual, repetitive tasks, leveraging scripting and AI tools.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of production support experience in complex, distributed environments.
- Strong SQL proficiency with hands-on experience on Oracle and Teradata databases.
- Strong UNIX/Linux expertise, with hands-on experience across grids, containers, and cloud platforms.
- Working knowledge of SDLC and ITIL concepts, including Incident and Problem Management.
- Demonstrated experience with Dynatrace, Splunk, and ITRS for monitoring and performance analysis.
- Experience with job scheduling tools including Autosys and Bob jobs.
- Python scripting for automation and operational tooling, with ability to apply AI tools to daily workflows.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical partners.
- Excellent project and time management skills with the ability to operate in high-pressure situations and multi-regional teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Financial services experience with knowledge of Treasury and Liquidity domains.
- Experience with Hadoop ecosystems and big data operations.
- Familiarity with Agile methodology and JIRA-based workflows.
- Exposure to Windows OS operations and Tableau reporting.
- Experience with Quartz, grid computing, cloud platforms, and containers.
