Senior Professional Engineer Signal Design

Palm Beach County is seeking a Senior Professional Engineer to oversee design, contracting, construction, and maintenance programs for signal and lighting projects in the Traffic Division. This role also supervises engineering and technical staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field; minimum of five years (5) years of experience in professional engineering or related engineering work, including one (1) year of experience in the supervisory aspects of the work,

OR

• A Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field; minimum of four (4) years of experience in professional engineering or related engineering work, including one (1) year of experience in the supervisory aspects of the work.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT

Qualified applicants for this position MUST:

• Be licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Florida (FL) OR licensed as a P.E. in another state and ability to obtain State of FL P.E. licensure within 11 months of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience with street lighting design, and
• Experience with traffic signal design.
