The Sr. Program Coordinator for Outreach and Leadership Development is responsible for member management and support for individual corps members in Tulane University's AmeriCorps VISTA program Responsibilities include: recruiting, training and orienting new VISTA members and VISTA leader; managing VISTA members and VISTA leader, developing VISTA professional development curriculum, and contributing to the overall success of the AmeriCorps VISTA program. Sr. Program Coordinator is expected to meet regularly with the VISTA program team, including the Sr. Program Manager and VISTA leader, to discuss current program priorities and future plans.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (or High School Diploma/Equivalent and five years' relevant work experience).
  • One (1) year of experience with service-learning theory and pedagogy, experiential education programs, higher education student leadership development, social justice, non-profit management, community engagement or engaged scholarship.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with national service programs
  • Social Justice mindset that actively supports equity and inclusion
  • Knowledge and application of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office, balancing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours.
  • Social Justice mindset that actively supports equity and inclusion
  • Knowledge and application of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
