Salary Range: $58,000-$61,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Summary

The Senior Program Manager manages the daily operations and logistics of one or more major programs. This role is responsible for scheduling, planning, coordinating, and administering major programs.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages the scheduling of programs and special events, such as recruiting events, seminars, professional development events, retreats, etc.
  • Develops and manages the production of program materials (including departmental website pertaining to graduate programs), ensuring quality and timelines are maintained.
  • Works with supervisor on new program initiatives, to ensure that professional and efficient operation of programs is being met. Develops and implements standards for attainment of program goals and objectives in consultation with the GARs and Graduate Curriculum Committees.
  • Coordinates program agreements between the department/College/Graduate School and both teaching and research faculty, corporate clients, and current and past students.
  • Assists department/college leadership team when submitting proposals for program development and program events. Maintains accurate record keeping pertaining to student success and progress for the MS and PhD program, including alumni. Authors reports analyzing departmental data in comparison to peer departments.
  • Develops and manages program budgets, ensuring program accounts remain within budget. Performs purchasing, invoicing, and account reconciliations. Recommends new policies and procedures for improvement of program activities.
  • Manages staff for program operations and logistics. Interfaces directly with MS and PhD students to assist with advancement and solving problems that arise. Assists the Chemistry Graduate Student Organization with their activities and approval. Liaises and advocates for students in dealings with department and college leadership, and the graduate school.
  • Administers activities of M.S. and Ph.D. degree programs in Chemistry, including exam and activity scheduling, graduate course enrollment, degree auditing, recruitment efforts and program evaluation.
  • Conducts information sessions for programs, follows up, and tracks conversion rates.
  • Acts as a representative of the department during all programs, membership associations, and conferences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field.
  • Three (3) years of related work experience.
  • This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Physical Demands

  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally. Exerts up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally.

This position will work primarily on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
