Why Join Us?

  • Mission-driven work supporting educators and learners
  • Opportunity to shape the future of technology in education
  • Competitive salary and benefits package

The Opportunity

As our Senior Program Manager, you'll serve as the connective force behind major technology and software initiatives, ensuring strategy translates into measurable results. You'll establish delivery excellence across programs, provide portfolio-level visibility into priorities and resources, and help teams stay focused on what matters most. By partnering with leadership, internal teams, and external vendors, you'll drive accountability, remove barriers, and keep critical projects moving forward.

This is an exciting opportunity for a curious, decisive, and resourceful leader who is comfortable stepping into complexity, validating the path forward, and building the delivery discipline needed for the organization to scale.

Work Location

  • RW Thrive is headquartered in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. This is a remote position, working from a home office, with occasional in-person visits to headquarters as business needs require. There is no fixed recurring in-office schedule.

Candidates must reside in one of the following states: Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, or Wisconsin

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate leadership priorities and strategic objectives into executable program plans with defined owners, milestones, dependencies, deliverables, and target dates.
  • Build and manage integrated delivery schedules across multiple concurrent programs, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and external commitments.
  • Own and maintain the action register as the single source of truth for commitments, including ownership, due dates, status, and accountability.
  • Establish and lead a consistent delivery governance cadence, monitoring progress, resolving overdue items, and escalating exceptions or risks as needed.
  • Define and manage release, decision, and delivery gates with clear criteria, target dates, and accountable decision-makers.
  • Provide portfolio-level oversight of priorities, dependencies, risks, schedule conflicts, and competing demands to support leadership decision-making.
  • Evaluate resource capacity across internal teams and external vendors, identify constraints and concentration risks, and recommend allocation adjustments to support delivery commitments.
  • Establish and maintain consistent program management standards, processes, tools, reporting practices, and accountability frameworks across assigned programs.
  • Provide functional leadership and guidance to project and program management resources, promoting consistent execution and delivery excellence.
  • Coordinate launch, release-readiness, and go-live activities, ensuring critical dependencies, decisions, and commitments are actively managed.
  • Develop and maintain evidence-based program reporting, leveraging SQL, spreadsheets, business intelligence tools, and other data sources to validate status and support decision-making.
  • Continuously improve delivery processes, reporting, accountability, risk management, and program management practices as organizational needs evolve.

What You'll Bring

  • Seven or more years of progressive experience managing complex technology, software delivery, or enterprise programs, including responsibility for multiple concurrent initiatives and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience managing action registers, backlogs, integrated schedules, or similar delivery tracking systems
  • Experience running release-readiness, stage-gate, or comparable decision processes with documented exit criteria
  • Demonstrated experience reporting program status, risks, dependencies, and delivery confidence to senior leadership
  • Proficiency with SQL or strong spreadsheet and business intelligence skills sufficient to independently analyze program data
  • Demonstrated expertise in software delivery, program management, portfolio oversight, and driving complex initiatives from planning through release.
  • Solid analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, including assessing risks, dependencies, resource capacity, and delivery commitments using data-driven insights.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, build alignment, drive accountability, and operate independently in fast-paced, evolving environments.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience inheriting a delivery plan or program that had drifted and rebuilding confidence, accountability, and execution discipline
  • Experience coordinating work across external vendors or partner teams in addition to internal teams
  • Experience in education technology, healthcare simulation, or another regulated delivery environment

Travel Requirements

  • Travel requirements to be determined based on business needs

Compensation

  • The expected compensation range for this position is $110,000 - $140,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
