Job Description

SCOPE OF WORKThe purpose of this position is to provide support to the Senior Program Coordinator by developing a talent pool within the CalFresh spectrum and ensuring business needs are met in a timely manner. The incumbent of this position will work alongside the CalFresh SCC team and is responsible for tracking job-ready customers and recruiting potential customers to fill business needs.ACCOUNTABILITIESProvide support to the Business Services Team by entering job orders into CalJOBS and developing marketing flyers as neededAssist with organization of Job Squad workshops, which may include inviting businesses, developing/presenting weekly topics, and collecting resumesCollect, organize, and analyze information about customers in the "Talent Pool Bank" tracking tool (tests, interviews, abilities, employment interests, and character traits)Match customers' job skills with business qualifications; refer qualified customers to Job DevelopersInitiate and maintain ongoing personal contacts with job-ready customers and explain the benefits and employment supportive services provided based on eligibilityAssist customers in preparing job search portfolios; provide mock interviews and may assist with interview arrangementsMonitor participant job search progress and maintain open communication with Job Developers if a training possibility becomes availableProvide supportive services on a needs basis to eligible customersMaintain case management files and document contact with customers, employers, and other partners in Apricot accurately and in a timely mannerPrepare and modify documents, including correspondence, reports, memos, and emailsServe as a customer liaison, responding to customer problems, questions, or concerns, and coordinate with the proper agency personnel to provide timely and accurate answers for customersFollow up with customers as appropriate to document use/success in employee referralsRemain updated on program requirements and regulations affecting participants and businessesRefer customers to other CSET program resources as applicableParticipate in outreach events, job fairs, and meetings with partner agencies as assignedParticipate in training and professional development to build the required knowledge for the positionPerform other duties, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies, and proceduresSKILLS & ABILITIESAbility to uphold company principles and practices to the highest degree and represent the agency in a professional mannerProvide exceptional customer service for individuals from various backgrounds, including efficient, precise, and courteous communication in a dignified environmentAbility to speak effectively with groups of customers or employees of the organizationAbility to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employers, co-workers, members of other agencies, and the general publicAbility to deal with customers in a calm, professional, friendly, and patient mannerAbility to work under pressure and with different types of personalitiesKnowledgeable in modern office procedures and methods; proficient in the use of computers, Windows operating system, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Access), and program databaseStrong communication skills, research abilities, flexibility, and an ability to work well with othersAbility to read and interpret documentsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceKnowledge of the local labor market and employer expectationsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailIn-depth knowledge of all aspects of the various company programs and the ability to communicate policy information in a clear and detailed mannerAbility to work effectively with minimal supervisionAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in written formEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEPossession of a Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; and/or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum one year of experience providing services to low-income persons.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively with groups of customers or employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to calculate figures for recording and tracking purposes; ability to apply basic recordkeeping principles.REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral formAbility to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situationsCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSCalifornia Driver's License and proof of auto insurance required.WORK CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
