Senior Project Accountant
Construction | Full-Time | Reports to Controller

This is a senior individual contributor role at the heart of our finance team. You will work hands-on across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and payroll for 140+ employees -- and serve as a key backup across all three functions. For the right person, this role offers a clear path to grow into an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller.

Accounts Receivable
Process progress billings, AIA/Schedule of Values (SOVs), and change orders
Track retention and follow up on timely collections
Prepare Preliminary Notices and Lien Waivers to protect the company's interests
Maintain accurate records and support strong client relationships
Accounts Payable
Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
Assist with GL reconciliations and weekly check runs
Support vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies promptly
Payroll
Assist in processing complex payroll for 140+ employees across multiple pay types
Ensure compliance with Prevailing Wage and Certified Payroll requirements
Handle pay scales, raises, reimbursements, loans, and bonuses
Financial Reporting & Support
Assist with WIP reports, job cost reports, and month-end close
Support GL reconciliation and internal reporting
Contribute to process improvements and help maintain strong internal controls
Team Coverage
Serve as a key backup for AR, AP, and Payroll team members
Cross-train across functions to build a flexible, dependable team
Experience in construction accounting -- this is the most important technical requirement
Solid working knowledge of job costing, WIP, AIA billings, and Certified/Prevailing Wage payroll
Familiarity with construction accounting software (Sage, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar) and Excel
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
A track record of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
A bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent hands-on experience
