Senior Project Accountant

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting's client is seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Senior Project Accountant to support financial management across multiple construction projects. This role is critical in ensuring accurate job costing, timely billing, and reliable project financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong construction industry experience and a solid understanding of project accounting processes.Key ResponsibilitiesManage project accounting for multiple construction projects simultaneouslyPerform detailed job costing, cost tracking, and variance analysisHandle project setup, including budgets, cost codes, and contract documentationPrepare monthly AIA billing and support all project billing activitiesAssist with developing and updating project budgets and forecastsWork closely with project managers to ensure timely and accurate financial reportingReview and reconcile project expenses, subcontractor billings, and change ordersSupport month‑end close activities related to project financialsProvide documentation and analysis for internal and external auditsMonitor compliance with accounting policies, project controls, and contract requirementsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required3+ years of project accounting experience in the construction industry (required)Strong understanding of job costing , cost accounting, and project financial cyclesExperience with AIA billing formats and construction billing processesCPA certification a plusStrong analytical and communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and construction accounting software (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage, Procore, or similar)Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment#J-18808-Ljbffr
