Position Overview:
RDC, an award-winning architectural firm with a diverse portfolio, headquartered in Long Beach, California, is currently seeking a Senior Project Architect to work on a variety of projects. This position requires an advanced understanding of architectural design, technical detailing, building systems, and current construction practices. The primary function of a Senior Project Architect is to develop and coordinate the production of quality contract documents.
Key Responsibilities:
• Participate in internal project kick-off meetings and understand project scope, milestones, and risk areas in order to establish appropriate QA/QC review timelines. • Lead and perform QA/QC reviews at defined project milestones (e.g., SD, DD, 50% CDs, 90% CDs, permit sets, IFC) for: • Adherence to firm and industry standards, clarity, and coordination. • Constructability and integration with typical means and methods. • Code, life safety, accessibility, and agency compliance. • Sustainability goals and project-specific performance requirements. • Other special conditions or client standards. • Participate in and provide input to project teams in the production of high-quality drawings and specifications that can be easily interpreted by government agencies and efficiently utilized by contractors in the field. • Evaluate plans and specifications prepared by internal teams and external consultants (architects, engineers, and other design professionals), identifying conflicts, gaps, and opportunities to improve clarity and constructability.
Qualifications:
Accredited architectural degree preferred. Minimum 10 years of experience in architecture. Licensure required. Proficiency in Revit required. Proficiency in AutoCAD. 3d representation and rendering experience a plus. Confident presentation skills. QA/QC experience required.
