Senior Project Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer with strong expertise in deep foundations and heavy civil infrastructure. This hybrid role combines estimating responsibilities with hands-on project execution support, providing involvement from the bid phase through final project delivery.Projects typically include small- to mid-sized civil assignments such as deep foundations (pile and shoring systems), transportation improvements, culverts, light rail components, small bridges, and select industrial scopes. Most projects are short-term and may require periodic travel to remote job sites for coordination and oversight.Key Responsibilities Analyze drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports to define scope and prepare competitive cost estimatesPerform detailed quantity take-offs and develop comprehensive labor, equipment, and material cost analysesMaintain up-to-date vendor pricing and accurate cost documentationParticipate in pre-bid meetings and contribute to proposal preparationSupport field operations with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and document controlCoordinate subcontractors and assist with contract administration and claims managementTrack and monitor project costs on a weekly basis using project management and accounting systemsEvaluate design alternatives and recommend cost-effective engineering solutionsAssist with project start-up documentation and help maintain strong contractor performance ratingsRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management5–7 years of experience in heavy civil construction, including deep foundations, pile and shoring, heavy highway, light rail, or industrial projectsProven experience as a Project Engineer supporting civil infrastructure or deep foundation workStrong understanding of field construction practices and estimating principlesProficiency in estimating, scheduling, and project management software platformsSolid mathematical and analytical skills (geometry, ratios, take-offs, and cost calculations)Experience collaborating with regulatory agencies, clients, subcontractors, and executive leadershipPreferred Experience Direct hands-on experience with deep foundation systemsBackground in cost engineering within competitive bid environmentsAbility and willingness to travel as project needs requireRequired Skill Sets Deep Foundations & Shoring SystemsSubcontractor Coordination & Project DocumentationContract Administration & Change Management#J-18808-Ljbffr
