Senior Project Engineer (Utilities - III)
Job Summary
The Senior Project Engineer (Utilities-III) is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of engineering projects. This role provides innovative solutions to solve problems, and requires design skills, time management and experience to perform on a variety of Water/Wastewater and general public facilities. The Senior Project Engineer has a strong understanding of engineering principles to deliver high quality standards to clients.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions for projects
- Create and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation
- Monitor progress of projects and make adjustments as needed to ensure proper completion
- Lead design and preparation of plans, specifications, and calculations for pipeline, lift station, and Water/Wastewater treatment system components
- Work with senior staff to identify potential project risks and develop modification strategies if needed
- Ensure all aspects of the project's safety comply with regulations and quality standards
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, design changes, schedules, and status updates
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to upper management and clients
Required Skills/Abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Deltek VantagePoint and Smartsheet or similar platforms
- AutoCAD experience is a plus
- Ability to exercise critical thinking and good independent judgement
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects while adhering to schedules and budgets
- Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil or Environmental)
- 5-7 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles in one or more of the following: pipeline, lift station, Water/Wastewater treatment design
- P.E. required
