Job Summary:
The Senior Project Engineer will lead RFID technology deployment and operational workflows across multiple yard locations in the Bay Area. This role requires strong change management expertise, hands-on coordination with field teams, and the ability to drive complex engineering initiatives in a fast-paced telecom and utilities environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage daily with field technicians and material leads to develop workflows for gas and electric meter processes
Collaborate with software vendors to enhance applications based on field feedback
Ensure RFID readers, antennas, and handheld devices are operational and optimized
Coordinate with internal and external partners for continuous improvement initiatives
Partner with metering OEMs to deploy RFID-labeled meters and lead tagging efforts
Serve as the main point of contact for RFP activities and yard expansion projects
Drive execution of project milestones across crawl, walk, and run phases
Maintain a strong commitment to safety and promote safety awareness across teams
Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (BS)
Strong analytical and technical skills
Experience with Excel, PowerBI, and reporting tools
Proven ability to manage time-sensitive priorities
Experience in change management and delivering business commitments
Project management or engineering experience
Strong teamwork, accountability, and customer focus
Nice-to-Have Experience:
Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
5+ years of post-graduate engineering or project management experience
Operations and new technology deployment experience
Telecom industry experience
