Join to apply for the Senior Project Engineer - QA/QC role at Metro Consulting Associates, LLCThe Senior Project Engineer is responsible for leading the design, reporting, engineering, and quality control of civil engineering projects from inception to completion in accordance with the project scope. Work will include the design and applicable permitting of site layouts, grading plans, utility systems, stormwater management, soil erosion and sedimentation control plans, and street improvements on a variety of projects including land development, infrastructure, and renewable energy for private and public clients. Work may also include grant and loan applications, rate studies, construction administration, traffic control, permitting, local, state, and federal compliance issues, reporting, and public relations/communication.Duties & ResponsibilitiesParticipate in and provide subject matter expertise during initial proposal and throughout entire project life cycle (kick off meeting, milestones, and final QA/QC review prior to submittal)Lead engineering project quality assurance program; assist engineering department in achievement of quality improvementOversee all phases of the project from design through construction, including permitting, design, quality control and plan set review.Make engineering design decisions independentlyServe as main point-of-contact for all project-related questions and concerns from internal and external stakeholdersLead communication with contractors and subcontractors on all engineering tasksProvide professional oversight, analyze, and review work of technical field and office staffReview computations/measurements and interpret data made by others to verify the accuracy of data calculationsInvestigate project errors and work closely with project managers and team members for prompt correctionProactively manage design issues, budgetary concerns, and other project-related complicationsAssist with preparation of proposals and cost estimates for new project opportunitiesDirect and coordinate workloads with other project team membersMonitor and evaluate projects to ensure adherence to project specifications, budgets and standardsDetermine project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, sequencing project elementsEnsure accurate and timely reporting standards are maintained throughout the project(s) while adhering to Company standards and methodologiesPrepare contract documents and review/evaluate submitted bids for various projects as assignedControl project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes, recommending actionsRecommend technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, or performanceServe as mentor and provide technical guidance/direction to all project team membersMaintain exceptional internal and external client relationsAll other duties as assignedWork Environment and Physical DemandsOffice settingRegularly required to sitFrequently lifts or moves objects up to 20 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focusPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the associate for this job.
