Senior Project Engineer-Structures ResponsibilitiesStantec is seeking a Senior Project Engineer-Structures to work independently on small and medium projects, and as a team leader of larger projects responsible for the work of Structural Engineers and structural BIM team members. The Senior Structural Engineer will evaluate, select, and specify engineered systems or products for a project.Independently complete calculations and drawings for small and medium projectsDevelopment of job specific-discipline specifications independently for less complex projectsLead junior engineers in complex projectsLead the coordination with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplinesIndependently perform Construction Administration duties including completing field observations reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change ordersPerform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer softwareCommunicate design issues with solutions to the design team and Owner clientsKnowledge of industry standard design processes and understanding of construction means and methodsWork within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects to clients on time, on budget, and at a high level of client serviceAssist with development of design standardsCapabilities and CredentialsRequisite knowledge and application of structural design codes, standards, and applicable building codesStrong knowledge of structural systems, seismic design, construction means and methods, materials, and industry standardsAbility to communicate both verbally and in written form concepts and ideas to a diverse audience of Architects, Engineers, and Owner clients effectivelyAbility to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and scheduleStrong organizational skills and ability to work effectively both independently and in team settingsAbility to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thoughtPersonally accountable and able to work with remote team membersPossess a valid driver's license with a good driving recordEducation and ExperienceMinimum 5 years of related experienceBachelor's degree in Engineering is required; Master's Degree preferredProfessional Engineering license is required; Structural Engineering license is preferredExperience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit)Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite)Experience with industry standard Structural Engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.)Pay RangeLocations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas - $100,000.00 - $145,000.00 AnnuallyEEO StatementStantec provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified employees and applicants for future and current employment and prohibit discrimination on the grounds of race, colour, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, genetic information, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
