Senior Project Engineer – Transportation Infrastructure – San Diego, CaliforniaLocation: San Diego, CaliforniaOpportunityParsons San Diego office is hiring a Senior Project Engineer to manage engineering, scheduling, procurement, construction, and startup aspects for road, highway, and transportation infrastructure projects in Southern California.The role supports multiple Caltrans and regional projects in the San Diego area and other California regions. The engineer will manage a subtask of large, complex projects or studies and provide technical excellence, coordination of disciplines, procurement, and construction planning. Prior project engineering experience is required. Relocation to the project site may be required.Work EnvironmentHybrid remote working scenario (allowing 1-2 days per week from home), reporting to the San Diego office weekly.ResponsibilitiesDevelop scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for assigned project elements; monitor progress to meet schedule and budget; identify and document scope changes.Determine scope of procurement work, schedules, and budgets; interface with Procurement and Subcontracts; participate in bid analysis.Review work to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and procedures; monitor productivity; conduct performance evaluations; recommend salary actions; provide training.Coordinate utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel; assign staff from support groups.Assist Project Manager in planning and supervising execution of technical, fiscal, and administrative functions.Ensure client criteria and scope met; expedite action items; understand client business goals.Prepare technical reports and documentation for client and project management.Act as Project Manager's deputy for certain activities.Obtain, analyze, and circulate technical and contractual information to project disciplines.Review and approve change orders; notify relevant personnel.Participate in decision‑making meetings with client and project management.RequirementsA four‑year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) and 12+ years of related field engineering experience with road/highway and infrastructure projects, broad general engineering background.
