What does a Sr. Project Leader do at Rinnai?

This role is responsible for leading complex, cross-functional programs that drive innovation, operational efficiency, and strategic growth. It operates at the intersection of engineering, product, and business execution, translating ideas into scalable solutions that deliver measurable outcomes. The position requires strong program leadership, technical depth, and business acumen to manage multi-project initiatives, influence stakeholders, and support enterprise priorities.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex, multi-project programs across engineering, product, and operations
  • Define program scope, objectives, timelines, and success metrics aligned with business goals
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies, risks, and trade-offs to ensure predictable outcomes
  • Develop and evaluate transformational initiatives from concept through pilot and implementation
  • Build business cases, including financial modeling, ROI analysis, and measurable success criteria
  • Partner with engineering and technical teams to align execution with strategic objectives
  • Translate technical concepts into clear, actionable business decisions
  • Support portfolio prioritization, resource planning, and program governance processes
  • Establish KPIs, track performance, and provide regular program reporting to leadership
  • Prepare and present data-driven insights, risks, and recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts across innovation, product development, and PMO processes
  • Identify systemic issues and implement scalable solutions to improve execution effectiveness
  • Mentor and guide project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability across functions

Job Requirements:

Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Software, or related field) required
  • Master's degree (MBA or technical discipline) preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, product development, or technical program management
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders
  • Understanding of project, program, and portfolio management principles
  • Familiarity with new product development or innovation lifecycle processes

Skills

  • Proven program and project management capabilities across multiple initiatives
  • Business case development, financial analysis, and data interpretation skills
  • Proficiency with tools such as MS Project, Jira, Power BI, and Excel
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex technical and business information into clear insights
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
