Senior Project Manager

Global Financial Firm located in Mississauga, ON has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager.

Work Mode: Hybrid

Pay rate range: $101.00 per hour - $107.00 per hour Negotiable based upon years of experience

Responsibilities:

• Transformation/change management/project experience with a focus on Capital Markets initiatives to address regulatory, audit, risk and control, and/or risk management issues
• Front to back working knowledge of Markets business and products and/or regulatory capital, Market Risk, and Finance (Product Control)
• Drive analysis, requirements gathering, and design forums as required
• Management of test phases, making use of tools including JIRA
• Ability to influence and build collaborative relationships across Global Markets front-to-back stakeholders, e.g., trading desk, finance, operations, technology, risk management
• Assist in ensuring that all target state tools, processes, and controls are socialized effectively and approved at the appropriate governance forum or level
• Manage internal and external dependencies across initiatives, including working closely with Risk Managers, Product Owners, Front Office, Product Control, and Technology teams
• Identify challenges and proactively seek to resolve or escalate risk and issues in a timely and well-articulated manner to the projects by engaging relevant stakeholders and PMs
• Engage senior stakeholders continuously by escalating and resolving issues as they arise
• Produce accurate and insightful project update materials and artifacts, tailoring to various forums and committees
• Build strong relationships, adopting a joined-up approach, to support the execution of programs
• Experience analyzing large datasets using SQL and Excel is a plus

Requirements:

• Must have markets delivery and significant project experience across large-scale projects
• Must have 10 years of experience in front to back projects (not necessarily 10 years in FRTB)
• Must have a strong understanding of FX Delta/FX Risk
• Must have strong markets product experience
• Must have strong communication skills
• Must have demonstrable experiences facing off to senior management
• Minimum of 10 years of project management experience
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with FRTB specifically around FX Delta and FX Risk management
• Experience with trading, risk, and P&L flows
• Strong & proven track record in strategic project management and delivering complex solutions are essential
• Has significant experience in Capital Markets Transformation
• Significant experience in scoping, developing, and prioritizing plans for strategic initiatives
• Excellent oral and written communications skills; must be articulate and persuasive with the judgment and authority to provide insightful commentary to senior stakeholders
• A solid understanding of mechanisms to track and communicate performance
• Ability to drive change to business practices by working effectively across a global organization and understand different perspectives
• Thought leadership in target state design through engaging stakeholders at various levels of the organization
• Demonstrated analytical skills with follow-up and problem-solving capability
• Experience in Markets, Risk, and Regulatory related projects/programs
• Bachelor’s/University degree in relevant fields, Master’s degree preferred
• Project Management certifications e.g. PMP or equivalent a strong plus
