Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join a dynamic and collaborative team focused on delivering technology-driven transportation and infrastructure solutions. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders to successfully manage and deliver complex projects.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex challenges, managing multiple priorities, and driving successful project outcomes in fast-paced environments. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and client relationships.

Job Details

Our need for this opening is someone that has ITS experience in our industry, so they would have worked for a competitor with ATMS (Advanced Traffic Management Systems) and Traffic signals.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
  • Manage and support one or more project teams to successfully deliver project outcomes.
  • Plan, monitor, and report on project performance to ensure projects meet agreed objectives and thresholds.
  • Manage project financials, schedules, deliverables, and quality expectations.
  • Coordinate day-to-day project activities and resolve project delivery issues.

Scope & Planning
  • Establish and maintain project scope definitions in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Lead change order management processes and manage scope adjustments.
  • Develop and maintain project management plans and project schedules.

Financial & Risk Management
  • Create and maintain project budgets, estimates, and forecasts.
  • Develop and manage risk management plans, risk registers, and mitigation actions.
  • Monitor project risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies.

Quality & Documentation
  • Ensure projects meet defined quality requirements and PMO standards.
  • Maintain document control processes for all project documentation.
  • Coordinate with development, testing, and accounting teams to ensure alignment on project protocols and deliverables.
  • Ensure requirements documents, design documents, manuals, release notes, and training documentation are accurate and synchronized prior to customer delivery.

Agile / Scrum Leadership
  • Organize, facilitate, and document Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Lead requirements gathering and tracking processes.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT), deployments, documentation, and project releases.
  • Manage scope creep and coordinate cross-functional design discussions.

Resource Management
  • Perform resource planning and forecasting activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve resource constraints and delivery conflicts.
  • Coordinate project staffing and workload management.

Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Coordinate customer meetings and follow up on action items and project deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities for additional customer solutions and collaborate with business development teams.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations for clients.
  • Assist with development of proposals, contracts, task orders, statements of work, and related documentation.
  • Review and approve customer status reports and invoicing.

Communication & Reporting
  • Maintain project status reporting for internal teams, customers, and third-party consultants.
  • Communicate project updates, risks, milestones, and deliverables to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Prepare executive-level project reporting documentation.

Sales & Business Support
  • Participate in proposal development and support project management-related business development activities.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Traffic, Civil, Transportation, Electrical), Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working within Agile development environments.
  • 5+ years of experience managing full software development lifecycle (SDLC) projects.
  • 3+ years of experience with ITIL and operational management methodologies.
  • 5+ years of experience within Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) environments.
  • PMP certification required.
  • CSM certification preferred.
  • Experience leading multi-phase, multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Ability to lead technical teams of 5+ developers and cross-functional project teams of 8+ people.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with Java programming is a plus.
  • Understanding of business development and marketing practices.
