Senior Project Manager
Jr. Davis Construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager who can take charge of multiple roadway projects. The candidate needs to be proficient in coordinating and scheduling field staff, job cost purchasing, CPM scheduling, and negotiating with Owner. Responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of an entire project through budgeting, hiring team members, sourcing suppliers, and planning the project release. The ideal candidate would have 5 years of experience working for a Highway Contractor in Central Florida and be knowledgeable of construction practices related to highway construction. A Bachelors degree in construction management or civil engineering, but all experienced candidates will be considered.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of a construction project. Responsibilities include:
• Overall responsibility for safety, quality, and budget for projects ranging in size. • Direct reports include Project Engineer, Office Manager, QC, and Safety. • Prepares project status reports and works to ensure work adheres to contract specifications. • Communicates district and corporate information to the project team as well as keeping OMGM updated. • Directs and supervises work of project administration, project superintendents, and engineers to establish operation priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships. • Establishes, defines, and promotes values, expectations, and performance standards for team and individual members in accordance with JDCs mission, vision, and values.
Create and execute project work plans that identify resource and budgetary needs. Responsible for the overall management of the project to ensure a complete solution is delivered on time and within budget. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as needed. Assist the Operations Manager and Project needs. Manage costs and program documentation. Effectively oversee subcontract management.
Coach and develop staff, providing feedback, advice, project updates, and encouragement. Host project meetings at least once a week with the team and managers. Implement and monitor Safety and Hazard communication programs. Monitor Quality Control and work in collaboration with Site Superintendent.
Carry out job duties while maintaining JDC values. And other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Bachelors degree in civil engineering or construction management. MUST have Heavy Highway experience and project management experience. Minimum 5-8 years of project experience in heavy-highway construction.
Familiar with grading, drainage, paving, asphalt, and concrete bridge construction, retaining walls, and all other highway construction scopes. Creativity and innovation are a must. Must have excellent team building skills. Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word. Strong prioritization and organizational skills, detail-oriented.
