Senior Project Manager — Commercial Construction

Location: Southeast Michigan / Detroit Area

Compensation: $125,000–$165,000 annually, depending on experience

About the Opportunity

An established commercial general contractor is seeking a Senior Project Manager with a diverse commercial construction background. Strong multifamily experience is highly valued.

The ideal candidate can lead complex projects, manage financial performance, and build productive relationships with clients, design partners, subcontractors, and field teams.

Local candidates with established market connections are preferred. Candidates considering relocation may be considered when they bring particularly strong multifamily experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery from preconstruction coordination through closeout.

• Manage budgets, contracts, schedules, procurement, and financial forecasts.

• Coordinate project managers, project engineers, superintendents, and external partners.

• Review project scopes and resolve contractual or constructability concerns.

• Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, billing, and reporting.

• Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions.

• Maintain client relationships and communicate project risks and progress.

• Mentor project team members and promote consistent management practices.

• Support quality, safety, and successful turnover.

Qualifications

• Substantial commercial construction project management experience.

• Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and manage financial accountability.

• Diverse commercial project exposure.

• Strong multifamily experience is a significant advantage.

• Knowledge of subcontractor scopes, construction sequencing, and contract administration.

• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.

• Southeast Michigan relationships and market knowledge preferred.
