Senior Project Manager (Delivery & Implementation Manager)
Location: Rocky Mount, NC (Hybrid)
Contract Duration: 12 months
Seeking for a Delivery & Implementation Manager to serve as the daily operational driver of the implementation ensuring forward momentum, clarity, and coordination across internal teams and our implementation vendor. This is a hands-on delivery leadership role responsible for anticipating issues, removing blockers, creating structure in ambiguity, and maintaining progress across all workstreams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive day-to-day execution of modernization work by ensuring all teams and vendors maintain continuous forward progress.
- Translate high-level program goals into coordinated, actionable delivery activities across workstreams.
- Serve as a key integrator across workstreams by identifying dependencies and ensuring alignment.
- Partner closely with the Business Analyst and Program Manager to ensure delivery readiness and alignment with program strategy.
- Lead Agile or iterative delivery routines, ensuring ceremonies are outcome-oriented.
- Maintain real-time visibility into delivery plans, risks, and dependencies.
- Investigate issues end-to-end to determine root causes and drive resolution.
- Lead readiness and implementation activities including go-live planning and stabilization.
- Coordinate daily with the implementation vendor for alignment on deliverables and timelines.
- Contribute to the delivery processes supporting transition to a future product operating model.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience as a Delivery Lead, Implementation Manager, or Project/Program Manager for complex initiatives - 7 years
- Driving outcomes across internal teams and vendors, ensuring continuous forward momentum - 7 years
- Problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and proactive issue resolution across multi-team environments - 7 years
- Ability to simplify complex work and create clarity within high ambiguity, fast-evolving environments - 7 years
- Cross-team integration and dependency management involving business teams, IT, SMEs, and vendors - 5 years
- Experience in Agile, iterative, or hybrid delivery models, including leading delivery ceremonies - 5 years
- Vendor alignment, contract coordination, and managing accountability for external implementation partners - 5 years
- Implementation, cutover, UAT coordination, and go-live readiness planning for system or modernization efforts - 5 years
- Risk identification, tracking, and proactive mitigation across multiple workstreams - 5 years
- Experience establishing delivery routines, processes, or operating models in maturing or forming environments - 5 years
- Experience partnering with multidisciplinary teams such as Development, Testing, Data, OCM/Training - 3 years
- Experience working in government, vendor-heavy, modernization, or large-scale implementation environments - 3 years
