Senior Project Manager-Healthcare

STV is seeking a highly experienced Senior Healthcare Project Manager to join our growing PM/CM team in Long Island and New York City. This leadership role is responsible for managing complex healthcare capital projects, MEP Infrastructure projects, and construction programs on behalf of healthcare systems, academic medical centers, pharmaceutical clients, and life sciences organizations. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated history of successfully delivering large-scale healthcare projects within active and occupied facilities while serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and key stakeholders.

The Senior Healthcare Project Manager will lead multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project delivery, providing strategic oversight of project scope, budget, schedule, quality, procurement, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. This individual will serve as an Owner's Representative and primary client liaison, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Owner's Representative and strategic advisor for major healthcare capital projects, MEP Infrastructure projects, and construction programs.
• Provide senior oversight for complex MEP infrastructure initiatives, ensuring technical coordination, operational continuity, and alignment with client priorities.
• Develop and implement project delivery strategy across planning, design, procurement, construction, MEP start-up, commissioning, occupancy, and closeout phases.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and project teams ranging from facility renovations to large-scale hospital expansions and new construction.
• Provide executive-level leadership across all project phases, ensuring alignment with client goals, operational requirements, and financial objectives.
• Direct project leadership teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors to resolve complex issues and maintain accountability for major milestones.
• Provide senior financial oversight for budgets, forecasts, cash flow, cost exposure, and executive-level financial reporting.
• Establish, monitor, and maintain master project schedules and program-level milestones.
• Oversee procurement strategies, contract negotiations, bid evaluations, contractor selection, and contract administration.
• Lead project governance, stakeholder engagement, executive reporting, and decision-making processes.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain project performance.
• Manage change control processes and evaluate impacts to scope, schedule, and budget.
• Monitor project quality and compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation requirements, and operational standards.
• Coordinate construction activities within active healthcare environments, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical operations and patient care.
• Facilitate communication among healthcare leadership, facilities departments, user groups, regulatory agencies, design teams, and contractors.
• Mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers while helping to develop future project leaders within the organization.
• Support business development activities, client relationship management, and pursuit efforts for future healthcare opportunities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Sciences or related discipline.
• Minimum 10-15 years of progressively responsible project management experience within healthcare, pharmaceutical, laboratory, life sciences, or institutional facilities.
• Demonstrated experience managing healthcare construction, MEP infrastructure projects and capital programs valued at $25 million to $100+ million.
• Significant experience representing healthcare owners, health systems, or institutional clients.
• Proven success managing major renovations, MEP infrastructure upgrades in occupied, operational healthcare facilities, campus modernization initiatives, and facility expansion programs.
• Strong understanding of healthcare planning, design, construction, commissioning, activation, and transition processes.
• Advanced expertise establishing project controls frameworks, financial reporting protocols, schedule governance, risk strategies, and contract administration procedures.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence executive-level decision-making and effectively manage complex organizational dynamics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, SharePoint, scheduling tools, and project management software platforms.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare construction delivery methods including Design-Bid-Build, Construction Manager at Risk, Design-Build, and Integrated Project Delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, CCM, PE, LEED AP, CHC, or other relevant professional certifications.

• Familiarity with FGI Guidelines, Joint Commission requirements, DOH regulations, USP standards, infection control protocols, and healthcare compliance requirements.

The Senior Healthcare Project Manager is expected to serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare clients, lead high-performing project teams, mentor emerging professionals, and contribute to the continued growth of STV's Healthcare PM/CM practice. This role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to balance technical, operational, financial, and stakeholder considerations while delivering exceptional project outcomes.

Compensation Range:

$187,747.98 - $214,569.12
