Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful planning, execution, and delivery of high-voltage engineering projects in industrial and utility environments. This leadership role plays a critical part in project development, from supporting proposals and contract negotiations through project completion and closeout.


The ideal candidate will have extensive project management experience, strong financial and contractual acumen, and a solid understanding of substation and transmission systems. This position requires the ability to manage complex projects independently while coordinating with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the project proposal and bid process in collaboration with the Sales team.
  • Negotiate, execute, and manage prime contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
  • Review and implement project specifications, drawing releases, and design modifications.
  • Develop project plans, budgets, schedules, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Monitor project performance and communicate status, risks, costs, and schedule updates to stakeholders.
  • Prepare, review, and approve project reporting and financial documentation.
  • Present project updates and performance metrics to senior leadership.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Direct subcontractor bidding activities and develop detailed scopes of work.
  • Oversee project invoicing processes for both clients and subcontractors.
  • Manage permitting requirements and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Support project closeout activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of project management or supervisory experience managing budgets, schedules, and project teams.
  • Experience managing high-voltage electrical projects within utility or industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of: Electrical substations, Substation control systems, Transmission systems
  • Strong understanding of project controls and financial management.
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts and influence key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency with project management software such as Microsoft Project and/or Primavera.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, and complex engineering projects from inception through completion.


Work Environment & Travel

  • Primarily office-based with occasional visits to project and construction sites.
  • Approximately 10% overnight travel for project meetings, training, and site support.
  • Extended hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required based on project demands.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor environments and varying weather conditions during site visits.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
