This role is ideal for someone who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, influence stakeholders at all levels, and navigate complex organizational environments with confidence.
We are looking for a leader who understands Human Resources deeply and can connect HR strategy to operational outcomes. The successful candidate will partner with executive leaders, HR teams, and operational stakeholders to lead initiatives such as workforce planning, organizational optimization, new building activations, enterprise programs, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic priorities.

Job Summary
What Makes This Role Unique
This position requires someone who can operate comfortably at both the strategic and operational levels.
One day, you may be facilitating conversations with executive leaders regarding workforce implications of a major organizational initiative. The next, you may be building implementation plans, resolving stakeholder concerns, developing communications, or driving project execution.
Success in this role requires the ability to see the bigger picture while remaining engaged in the details necessary to move work forward.

Modes of Work
This position will report on site 3 days per week.
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
