Job Title : Senior IT Project Manager

Position Overview

Lead large-scale strategic technology initiatives that have executive visibility, complex stakeholder environments, and long-term organizational impact. This role is responsible for driving project governance, coordinating cross-functional teams and vendors, managing project health, and ensuring successful delivery throughout the full project lifecycle.

What You'll Do

• Lead large strategic projects and programs from initiation through closeout.

• Manage executive-level stakeholder engagement, including project health reporting and monthly sponsor meetings.

• Coordinate product owners, development leadership, business stakeholders, and vendors to align release scope and expectations.

• Establish and maintain governance frameworks, work intake processes, and operational procedures.

• Develop project plans, staffing strategies, budgets, schedules, and status reporting.

• Monitor project quality, scope, risks, and issues, escalating to executive leadership when appropriate.

• Ensure project execution aligns with established project management methodology and organizational prioritization processes.

• Contribute to departmental objectives through additional project management and operational activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working effectively within matrix organizations.

• 5+ years of experience resolving complex, high-priority conflicts and competing requirements.

• 5+ years of experience applying Project Management principles, methodologies, and best practices.

• 5+ years of experience with system development methodologies for new systems and enhancements to existing information systems.

• 5+ years of experience communicating stakeholder needs clearly and effectively.

• 5+ years of experience building consensus, facilitating working sessions, and negotiating outcomes across teams.

• 5+ years of experience managing stakeholder relationships and resolving issues.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently in ambiguous environments while building governance and operational processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a government or public sector environment.

• Experience serving in multiple project or program leadership roles, such as Project Manager, Program Manager, Project Coordinator, or similar.
