Job Description:
Administrative, technical and supervisory work in the Engineering Division, providing a broad range of professional level engineering services; duties include developing technical processes and programs for the Department of Public Works; all other related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering; and more than seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience working on varied engineering projects with some administrative and supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Class D drivers license required.
Massachusetts Professional Engineer certificate preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of Civil Engineering.
Technical knowledge and experience in surveying, design, construction, repair and inspection of a broad range of public works type projects. Knowledge of subdivision plan review, planning board rules and regulations, and zoning and wetlands bylaw rules and regulations. Knowledge of engineering related computer application programs. Knowledge of state of the art stormwater treatment technology.
Ability to meet and deal with others appropriately and effectively. Ability to operate surveying equipment. Ability to make public presentations and conduct meetings. Ability to work independently and supervise others.
Proficiency in the use of computers including word processing, spreadsheets, database, and engineering, drafting and design software. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with individuals and groups.
