Senior Property Accountant
Setting/Hours: Hybrid | Monday–Friday, 8: 00 AM –5: 00 PM
Location: Cincinnati, OH


trak group is partnering with a growing organization to fill a Senior Property Accountant role on a direct-hire basis. This is a hybrid position offering a competitive salary, bonus potential, ESOP participation, and 401(k) matching.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple properties in accordance with GAAP, tax basis, and company policies
  • Maintain property-level general ledgers, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the asset management team on all financial matters
  • Prepare and review balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements with variance analysis
  • Collaborate with asset management on annual operating budgets and forecasts
  • Present monthly financial highlights and variance analysis to leadership
  • Monitor accounts receivable and payable for accuracy and timeliness
  • Lead and support year-end GAAP audits for select legal entities
  • Oversee CAM reconciliations, ensuring expenses are accurately allocated and reconciled against lease agreements
  • Maintain timely bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Lead preparation and analysis for property tax appeals
  • Calculate, review, and process management, development, and asset management fees
  • Perform quarterly accounting and reporting for equity funds
  • Identify and implement process improvements as opportunities arise

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of property or real estate accounting experience
  • Experience with Yardi highly preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Foundational understanding of US GAAP
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and organizational levels
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • A self-starter mindset with a desire to grow and broaden your accounting expertise
