Senior Accountant – Real Estate


The Senior Accountant will support a multi-entity property management platform, with a focus on bank reconciliations, treasury operations, and financial reporting across a portfolio of properties.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead key aspects of the month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Perform high-volume bank reconciliations across operating, security deposit, and corporate accounts
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and audit-ready documentation
  • Manage treasury functions including cash positioning, intercompany transfers, ACH/wires, and banking controls
  • Monitor liquidity and support cash flow forecasting across properties
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations (cash, deposits, prepaid expenses, accruals, intercompany)
  • Analyze financial statements and perform variance analysis vs. budget and prior periods
  • Partner with property management and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Identify and implement process improvements across close, reconciliation, and treasury workflows
  • Support internal/external audits and strengthen internal controls


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 2-6+ years of accounting experience, ideally within property management or real estate
  • Strong experience with bank reconciliations, treasury management, and multi-entity environments
  • Experience with systems such as Yardi, AppFolio, MRI, or RealPage
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
