Senior Property Accountant

A growing commercial real estate organization is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to take ownership of financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close for a commercial property portfolio.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands property accounting beyond basic transaction processing. You’ll manage portfolio-level financials, identify issues before they become problems, and help maintain accurate, audit-ready reporting.
What You’ll Do:
Own full-cycle month-end close for assigned properties
Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, and prepaid amortization
Complete bank, loan, and intercompany reconciliations
Maintain depreciation schedules and WIP tracking
Review the general ledger and perform variance analysis
Ensure financial statements are accurate, complete, and delivered on time
Partner with asset management and operations to research and resolve discrepancies
What You’ll Bring:
Yardi experience required
3–5+ years of property accounting experience; commercial real estate preferred
Ability to independently manage month-end close
Strong understanding of debits, credits, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, and depreciation
Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic analysis
Experience supporting multiple properties or entities is a plus
