Job Details:
Our organization is currently seeking a Senior Property Accountant who will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting and financial management for our extensive portfolio of commercial properties. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional with a strong background in property accounting, particularly in the retail and shopping center sectors. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a passion for numbers, and a drive to provide accurate and timely financial information to our stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all aspects of accounting and financial management for a portfolio of commercial properties, including retail and shopping centers.
2. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
3. Conduct CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and ensure accurate billing and recovery of all CAM expenses.
4. Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes for all properties, including variance analysis and reporting.
5. Coordinate with external auditors to ensure all financial records are accurately maintained and in compliance with applicable regulations.
6. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
7. Provide financial guidance and support to property managers and other stakeholders as needed.
8. Keep abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes, and ensure these are appropriately reflected in financial reporting and projections.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, preferably in the retail and shopping center sectors.
3. Strong understanding and experience with CAM reconciliations.
4. Proficiency in using CAMS (Community Association Management Software) or a similar property management software.
5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
7. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
8. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
9. CPA certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
