Job Description

We're partnering with a growing, well‑established organization in the Portland area to hire a hands on Senior Property Accountant to support a property portfolio. This is a high‑impact role for someone who enjoys owning the details while helping keep a small accounting team running smoothly.

This opportunity is ideal for a professional who is confident working independently, comfortable in Yardi, and motivated by real ownership rather than layers of oversight.

What You'll Do

  • Own general ledger accounting and lead month‑end close for multiple properties
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Perform variance analysis and provide insights to leadership and property managers
  • Oversee high‑volume AP and AR, including invoice review, coding, and reconciliations
  • Manage CAM reconciliations, payroll journal entries, and property billbacks
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
  • Serve as a key accounting partner to property managers, leadership, owners, and external partners
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, documentation, and controls
  • Assist with audit preparation, 1099s, and special projects as needed

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in property management or real estate
  • Yardi experience strongly preferred (Voyager or similar)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and property‑level financial reporting
  • Comfortable working in a small team with limited oversight
  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and confident communicating with non‑accounting stakeholders
  • Experience handling multiple properties and competing deadlines

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status. We consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with state and local laws, including the California Fair Chance Act, City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance.
