Responsibilities:
- Writes, rewrites, and edits documents in response to full lifecycle proposal requirements.
- Collaborates with subject matter experts, proposal team, and other stakeholders to develop compliant proposal content in accordance with RFP requirements, capture strategy, and corporate style guides.
- Conducts quality reviews of proposal material; may peer review material.
- Translates complex data into compelling, evaluator-friendly narrative and graphics.
- Research related topics to better understand the content.
- Recommends, selects, and tailors layouts and exhibits to amplify or clarify proposal objectives.
- Edits draft content by reviewing for completeness, accuracy, clarity, brevity, correct language use, compliance, consistency, flow, tone, organization, and alignment with specified style guide(s).
- Helps conceptualize and allocate space for text, photos, and illustrations according to solicitation requirements. Reorganizes, cuts, or rewrites as necessary.
- Verifies facts, dates, and statistics using standard reference sources.
- Maintains awareness of contents of repositories of previous proposal material (e.g., templates, exemplars); supports the ingest and labeling of new proposal material after submittal and award.
- Assists with documenting, maintaining, and using internal proposal processes.
- Contributes to and benefits from maintaining a collaborative environment—expanding skills and mentoring others.
Qualifications:
Required:
- BS 10-12, MS 8-10, Phd 5-7
- Must possess and have the ability to maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Poly
- Must be local to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and have the ability to commute to Arcfield’s Chantilly, VA, office as needed
- Recent proposal writing experience using Shipley-based processes
- Strong Microsoft Word skills, including applying style templates to generate compliant proposal sections
Desired:
- Bachelor's (or 4 years relevant experience) plus 8–10 years of experience, or a Master's with 6–8 years of experience.
- Familiarity integrating graphics into proposal documents.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams, including using document collaboration and Track Changes tools.
- Experience providing technical writing, particularly related to IT and cybersecurity, for Federal Government proposals.
- Experience using artificial intelligence (AI) tools to compose proposal sections.
- Understanding of Government RFPs and the source selection process.
- Adaptability to changing requirements and dynamic schedules.
