The Senior Proposal Writer is responsible for timely completion and strategic development of high-quality, competitive proposal content. This individual serves as a senior member of the proposal team and partners cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product management, and implementation throughout the proposal content writing process. The Senior Proposal Writer plays a critical role in shaping a prospect's expectations of Tyler's solutions through differentiated messaging, market-aligned positioning, and deep institutional knowledge.ResponsibilitiesDevelops compelling, market-informed proposal narratives that synthesize existing content, new SME inputs, and product positioning into persuasive, customer-focused responsesOwns development of complex and high-visibility RFx sections from strategy and outline creation through final reviewApplies deep product, industry, and institutional knowledge to position Tyler solutions effectively against competitor offerings and evolving market trendsReviews, edits, and proofreads proposal content and related materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, compliance, and alignment with strategic messagingMentors and trains proposal writers and cross-functional contributors on proposal best practices, content standards, and effective positioning techniquesManages multiple complex projects simultaneously, maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detailLeverages proposal team tools, templates, and knowledge repositories to drive efficiency, accuracy, and content standardizationContributes to the evolution of writing processes, tools, and best practices to improve quality, scalability, and team performanceLeads internal writing-focused trainings and workshopsOwns the evolution and maintenance of Tyler's proposal style guidelinesQualificationsBS/BA in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field3+ years of experience in a proposal writing role, with demonstrated success writing client-focused, persuasive proposal contentStrong professional and persuasive written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, customer-focused messagingDemonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment (both independently and as a team player)Exceptional attention to detail, follow-up, and quality control standardsExcellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects and priorities simultaneouslyExperience in public sector software industry or persuasive writingAdvanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, in addition to AdobeAdvanced skills in Qvidian architecture and content managementTyler Technologies has offices throughout the United States.
