Senior Provider Recruiter
About the RoleAre you a healthcare recruiter who knows how to find, engage, and close top provider talent? Thundermist Health Center is looking for a Senior Provider Recruiter to lead full-cycle recruiting across our clinical and non-clinical workforce - with a primary focus on physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and registered nurses. You'll own the end-to-end candidate experience, partner closely with hiring managers and clinical leaders, and collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Marketing to keep Thundermist staffed and growing. Serve as the primary recruiter for physicians (MD/DO), nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and registered nursesDevelop and execute sourcing strategies leveraging physician-specific job boards, professional associations, residency program outreach, direct outreach, and referral networksScreen and evaluate provider candidates on clinical fit, licensure and credentialing readiness, cultural alignment, and retention potentialPartner with hiring managers, the Chief Medical Officer, and clinical leaders to define role requirements, compensation ranges, and interview processesCoordinate provider interview logistics including panel scheduling, site visits, and candidate travelManage the offer process in partnership with HR, Finance, and hiring leaders, ensuring competitive and compliant compensation packagesFacilitate the transition from offer acceptance to pre-onboarding, partnering with credentialing, licensure, and payer enrollment teams to minimize time-to-start
Full-Cycle Recruiting - All Roles
Manage full-cycle recruiting for assigned requisitions across clinical, administrative, and support functionsPost positions to Thundermist's ATS and external job boards; maintain accurate, engaging, and compliant postingsSource passive candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean searches, and ongoing network developmentScreen resumes, conduct phone screens, and present qualified shortlists to hiring managersExtend offers, negotiate compensation, and close candidates in partnership with HR and hiring managers
Pipeline, Partnerships & Strategy
Maintain healthy candidate pipelines for hard-to-fill provider and specialty roles through proactive sourcing and relationship-buildingTrack and monitor key recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, source of hire, offer acceptance rate, and requisition agingBuild and sustain consultative relationships with hiring managers; conduct kickoff meetings and coach on interview best practicesPartner with Marketing on employer branding, recruitment campaigns, career site content, and social media presenceGenerate and analyze recruiting reports; use data to identify trends, sourcing effectiveness, and process improvement opportunitiesRepresent Thundermist at career fairs, residency program events, professional conferences, and community recruiting events
What We're Looking ForYou're a strategic, relationship-driven recruiter who can source a cardiologist and close a medical assistant in the same week. You know the difference between a credentialing delay and a red flag, and you bring market intelligence to every hiring manager conversation. You're organized, metrics-minded, and genuinely motivated by Thundermist's mission to serve underserved communities.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field - or equivalent experience15+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with at least 8 years focused on healthcare or medical provider recruitingDemonstrated experience recruiting physicians (MD/DO), NPs, PAs, and RNsWorking knowledge of provider credentialing, licensure timelines, DEA registration, and regulatory considerations that impact time-to-startProficiency with ATS platforms and sourcing tools including LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and physician-specific job boards (PracticeLink, DocCafe, NEJM CareerCenter, or similar)Working knowledge of EEO, OFCCP, and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws
Preferred:
Prior experience recruiting for FQHCs, community health centers, or safety-net providersFamiliarity with NHSC, state loan repayment programs, and other provider recruitment incentive programsExperience with employer branding, recruitment marketing, and career site strategyExperience partnering on provider compensation modeling and offer negotiation
Compensation$64,064 - $96,096 annually | Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.Schedule & LocationsThis is a full-time (40 hours/week), benefit-eligible hybrid role with regular on-site presence at a Thundermist location for hiring manager meetings, interviews, and career events. Occasional evening or weekend availability is required to accommodate provider candidates outside of clinical hours.
