Senior QA/QC Manager, Precast Concrete Manufacturing
A day in this role
When you walk onto our Rialto production floor at 6:30 a.m., you’re the quality compass for everything we build. You review overnight pour results, walk the line with Production to spot-check forms, and coach a new QA tech on a pre-pour checklist. By mid-morning, you’re answering a contractor’s question about a detail on the latest drawings, then meeting with Engineering to validate a test plan. After lunch, you’re prepping documentation for an upcoming Caltrans audit and guiding the team through a root-cause session on a nonconformance. Before the shift ends, you approve packaging for a shipment and log samples for traceability—closing the loop on another day ensuring our products meet internal, client, and regulatory expectations.

What you will do
- Create and deliver QA/QC training for key personnel in partnership with department leaders.
- Work with managers to roll out and reinforce quality training programs for the right audiences.
- Respond to questions from contract teams regarding drawings, tolerances, and technical details.
- Ready the plant for Caltrans and other third‑party or client facility audits.
- Run and interpret pre‑ and post‑pour testing; troubleshoot issues arising during mix and pour.
- Read and interpret construction drawings with accuracy.
- Track and document sample fabrication for full traceability.
- Partner daily with Production to elevate quality through real‑time observations and feedback.
- Provide technical support to the Engineering team as needed.
- Lead visual inspections to verify products meet internal specifications and client standards.
- Establish, implement, and monitor quality procedures across all operations for consistency.
- Facilitate audit calibration and training for QA personnel to standardize practices.
- Collaborate closely with production, site leadership, and corporate stakeholders to align on goals and resolve issues quickly.
- Review and approve quality reports; ensure data integrity for audits and inspections.
- Ensure nonconforming material is identified, contained, and dispositioned per procedure—no release until compliant.
- Oversee approval of packaging and finished goods before shipment or distribution.
- Implement and enforce EHS protocols within QA activities to meet regulatory requirements.
- Recommend process improvements and drive corrective/preventive actions.
- Lead special initiatives that advance quality and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with any project‑specific or special QA provisions.
- Perform additional QC duties as assigned.
- Develop and sustain documented quality standards.
- Host quarterly cross‑functional QC reviews with Engineering and Production.
- Train and mentor QA technicians.
What you bring
- Working knowledge of concrete technology, welding practices, and NDE/NDT methods.
- ACI certifications a plus.
- Familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, Caltrans, and local agency standards; commitment to adherence.
Physical demands
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, walk, and stoop throughout long shifts.
- Keep pace with manufacturing throughput and takt requirements.
- Reliable, consistent attendance.
- Safely operate tools and equipment.
- Perform strenuous tasks, including lifting and prolonged standing, in outdoor or adverse field conditions.
- Comfort working around dust and weather exposure (rain, wind).
- Accustomed to PPE: earplugs, hard hat, steel‑toed boots, gloves, and safety glasses.
Schedule and pay
Monday–Friday; occasionally Saturdays. Typical 10–12‑hour shifts.
Compensation: $120,000
