    Description

    STS Technical Services is hiring Senior Quality Inspectors in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a Senior Quality Control Inspector for an on-site role located in Milwaukee. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with strong mechanical aptitude and proven experience conducting comprehensive inspections on mechanical systems and integrated electrical equipment. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring product quality and reliability while supporting operations in a fast-paced, growth-oriented manufacturing environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform inspections on mechanical and electrical assemblies to ensure compliance with internal and customer specifications
    • Ensure all quality documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintained
    • Coordinate with the Quality Control team to ensure progress and meet production and shipping timelines
    • Identify and escalate quality issues that may impact delivery or product performance
    • Maintain visibility of product status throughout the QC and production process
    • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes
    • Participate in corrective actions for non-conformances and recurring defects
    • Support training efforts and ensure staff are informed of current quality standards and procedures
    • Participate in audits, process reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
    • Assist in updating SOPs, training materials, and inspection protocols as needed

    Daily Activity Breakdown

    • 10% Part and component inspection
    • 80% Assembly and final product inspection
    • 10% Process improvements, corrective/preventive actions, data process/analysis/reporting, and cross-functional collaboration

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in quality control or inspection in a manufacturing environment
    • Experience in power generation, diesel systems, or enclosure manufacturing preferred
    • Welding knowledge is preferred, especially in weld inspection
    • Proficiency in blueprint reading, mechanical drawings, and customer-supplied manuals
    • Ability to read and interpret measurements using rulers, calipers, and other precision tools
    • Skills in MS Excel and Word; experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor) and SharePoint is a plus
    • Demonstrated experience with Pareto charts, defect tracking, and process improvement initiatives is a plus
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to write clear and effective corrective actions and follow through on resolution
