    Your role:

    The Sr. Manager of Quality Control is responsible for the daily operation of the Teterboro QC laboratory (Sensory, analytical, instrumentation), Contract testing labs, and QC customer documentation. The position is responsible for compliance to GLP, cGMP, SQF, and ISO 9001standards. The Sr. Manager drives all aspects of the QC department, staff training and development, timely

    quality decisions, test equipment, lab safety, data communication, test plan optimization, and Quality Complaint root cause investigations. This senior role also supports affiliate Quality managers, Food Safety HACCP team, and Cleaning Validations.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Essential Functions:

    Daily operation QC Lab

    Provide guidance to the QC laboratory supervisors: compliance to standards, work priority, test

    accuracy, equipment functionality, process efficiency, and data communication, to assure product

    quality, timely material release and customer satisfaction. Support team with internal and external

    non-conformance investigations to identify root cause and corrective actions.

    QC Technical Support:

    Coordinate technical QC support to Operations, QA, Development, Applications, Sales, and

    customers to meet required QC service levels. Establish and optimize effective timely

    communication of data and information to allied departments and customers. As required, align QC

    processes and goals with allied departments and business initiatives. Establish and track Key

    Performance Indicators; analyze data and implement continuous process improvements.

    Lab Equipment /software and 3rd party contract labs:

    Identify and maintain necessary equipment/ software and contract labs to meet QC method

    requirements Develop, write, and implement quality procedures required to support and control

    quality processes.

    Staff Development:

    Challenge and develop QC staff for continuous improvement in testing accuracy, process ownership,

    work efficiency, skills development and in interdepartmental support. According to QC Guidelines,

    coordinate effective, timely and documented staff training and test method certification.

    Other Functions:

    A: Participate in HACCP, GMP, and ISO teams, as appropriate to ensure conformance to

    Symrise requirements. professional growth.

    B: Assuming responsibility for the Instrumental Analysis Lab in the absence of the Supervisor

    C: Perform all allied duties as assigned by the Director of Quality or their designee.

    D: Support Elyria QC Manager as needed

    E: Advise and support production with cleaning validations and environmental programs.

    About you:

    Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

    Knowledge of flavor or fragrance manufacturing , liquid blending, reactions, powder blenders, spray dryers, extraction/distillation equipment

    (Either 1 or 2)

    1. MS or MA in chemistry, biology or related field with 5 years supervisory experience in a flavor QC, Analytical or Research Lab.

    2. BS or BA in chemistry, biology or a related field with 10 years supervisory experience in a flavor QC, Analytical or Research Lab.

    Pay Transparency Disclosure: The expected annual salary range for this position is USD 120000.00 - USD 180000.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance.
